This year Ards CCÉ celebrates its 40th Anniversary and there’s just no better place to do this than, where it all began in 1976, at The Sands Bar, Portaferry. Everybody is welcome to attend this informal evening seisiún and enjoy the music and the craic!
Thursdays 21st July – The Sands Family Band & Na Leanaí Concert – Bangor Abbey
Born, bred and based in County Down, the Sands Family Band have been singing and playing music for as long as anyone can remember. They are absolute local legends and the most famous Co Down folk group ever! Their repertoire largely consists of their own compositions together with some of their favourites from the bottomless well of the Irish song and music tradition.
Na Leanaí are a new dynamic Co Down folk group, who are taking the Irish music scene by storm. They are the offspring of the legendary Sands Family and after spending many of their years growing up singing with their kin, they made the decision in 2014 to officially form a band. This will truly be a fantastic family concert and one not to miss! Full concert details to follow.
